Adrian Heath (1920-1992)

Born in Burma and came to England as a boy. Studied with Stanhope Forbes in Newlyn 1938. Before and after the War he studied at Slade School. After meeting Ben Nicholson in St Ives in 1949 and 1951, Gear exhibited regularly at Redfern Galleries from 1953, and later taught at Bath Academy of Art and Reading University. His work is in many public collections including Arts Council of Great Britain, Tate Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum
