(UK) For his best known works, Britain's Matthew Small anonymously photographs and films people on the streets of London, using them as the basis for very striking, insightful portraiture. By painting directly onto used pieces of metal, or other found materials, he gives his work a raw, gritty vitality. A recent exhibition with Leonard Street Gallery in London was a sell-out success.
