| Michael Canney 1923-1999 |
Cornish born. Studied at Redruth, Penzance and St Ives Schools of Art. After Army service he studied at Goldsmiths 1947-51. Part-time curator at Newlyn Art Gallery 1956-65 and later worked for the BBC producing documentaries for TV and radio. Taught at West of England College of Art 1966-83. Solo shows included two at Belgrave London, 1990 and 1995; more recently at Katherine House Gallery, Marlborough, 2005, and The Fine Art Society, 2007.
